I don't know. Maybe I'm just being naive, but I'd like to believe most people are sentient. I mean everyone can't be totally clueless, right? Wrong. Our society is so full of itself, so caught up in the story it enacts that nobody seems to realize where it is going. Orwell was an optimist.. "Adults" are not even willing to take responsibility for their own actions, let alone the protection of their children. People would rather live as slaves to society because they can always live in denial of that fact. There is no need to actually think about it, is there? Children are taught from youth to dread fecal matter, despise those better off than they are, place a sick and twisted value on blind faith, label anyone and everyone in sight, and view either Republicans or Democrats as bigoted, evil, inhuman fascist manipulators. When you get right down to it, people just suck. We are all pitiful, sophomoric, self-centered hypocrites living in a world of delusions. Ignorance is bliss. Expecting anything more from a mere human is probably too much to ask. But hey, what does it matter if we suck or we don't? It's all the same. Society is doomed anyhow. We shouldn't deny it any longer; hypocrisy is a greater evil. |

American society is so caught up in the propoganda we are spoonfed in Saturday morning cartoons, TV sit-coms and "Headline News" that people can't even tell the difference between left and right. | ||
