Analysis Data from user research is analyzed. User profiles, task analyses, and use scenarios are derived from this process.
Value
User profiles define categories and characteristics of users (demographics, technology experience, attitudes and motivations, etc.) and help a designer understand who is using the product. Task analysis-looking at steps taken to complete tasks, frequency and importance of tasks-provides one view of how people do their work. Use scenarios describe, in story form, how people do their work. All three can used for generating design concepts, cognitive walkthroughs of a prototype, and for determining tool and user performance requirements.
Example: Screen-flow
